For the fashion conscious and shopping-addict, some cities become synonymous with some of their unique fashion stores. Just like V2K designers, the designer fashion store in Istanbul.

A new shopping destination in Turkey, offering mainly a mix of young women and men’s fashion, V2K designers is for those on the hunt for a more personal and cosmopolitan style. Be it boho or rock-chic, the store takes inspiration from the streets of New York, London, Milan and Paris rather than runway.

It is a store as editor, that picks the hottest from an array of hip and upcoming international designers and presents them in a unique setting in tone with the collections represented.

A long way from the exclusiveness of designer stores and the cold atmosphere of the department stores, V2K designers is a retail environment, in which the customers are regarded as regular guests rather than just “customers”.

Also on the shelves are a large selection of the latest premium jeans, as well as accessories to match and shoes to go with your outfit.

 

Inside Out – Outside In

V2K designers store interiors are the works of Autoban, an award-winning interior and product design studio based in Istanbul. Chosen as one of the best Young Designers of Europe by the Wallpaper Magazine, Autoban, in tone with the collections on display, has come up with a plan attached with high urban attitude. The main idea was to bring-in the outside, by borrowing elements from the streets and carrying them to the store.

On concrete floor carrying out slogans, rises brick walls painted in chalk-white, wooden ladders climbing up to nowhere but showcasing the shoes and bags collections and a stainless steel storefront that resembles old American cars with its curved forms. The raw simplicity of the interior keeps the focus on clothes, while wooden display units add warmth to the general atmosphere.

Meet me @ the Bar

Shopping is not all about purchase. At least not within the premises of V2K designers, as the team provides guests with the best coffee in town along with tasty muffins, in-between visits to the fitting room. The in-store bar is for tired shoppers to sip and chat.

Is that Betsey Johnson speaking?

V2K designers takes full advantage of its sister company - Power FM (FM station broadcasting all over the country) and promotes itself, and the designers it represents, through various radio spots. These radio spots are formed by pre-recorded “best wishes” messages from the very own voices of the international designers that V2K is proud to work with. These messages are also carried out to customers via in-store audio equipment, thus bridging the gap between the designer and the end user. There are also notes adorning the store walls, from the designers in their own handwriting...

Chain Reaction

The first stand-alone V2K designers stores, located in Ankara and Nisantasi-Istanbul, opened up in late 2005. Following the success of these branches in such short time, V2K now widens its territory by settling down on a few more desired locations. The most recent addition to the chain is located in Kanyon, the distinctive shopping mall of Istanbul. More branches will follow.
